## How it works

### Step-by-step

**Monthly payments**
Your battery automatically works in harmony with thousands of others creating a Virtual Power Plant and helping to keep the grid balanced. We run the trades; you get paid!

**Tariff optimisation**
Make better use of energy from the grid at the cheapest, cleanest times, and power your home from your battery when it’s not.

**Solar self-consumption**
Maximise use of your own clean energy by storing your excess.

**Smart energy control**
Automatically coordinates your battery with your solar, heat pump, and other energy usage so your home runs as cost effectively as possible in the background.

The Levelise Hub 2 is installed alongside your home battery system.

Hub 2 automatically optimises your energy usage: charging low, avoiding highs, and participating in flexibility markets when it pays.
